The International Sea Fair begins this Friday, May 12th in Las Palmas. The fair includes 91 companies and 124 exhibiting stands spread around Plaza de Canarias and the surroundings of the Santa Catalina Pier. This seventh edition is dedicated to artisanal fishing and nineteenth century navigation. Lots of things to do for all ages including aquatic activities, food, music, exhibitions, boat visits and boat sales, swimwear and much more related to the sea during the weekend.
The fair, which has been consolidated over the last years as an inescapable stop for professionals in the nautical and marine-maritime sectors, is jointly promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and The Port Authority of Las Palmas.
This year Fimar LPGC incorporates four major developments in its agenda, the arrival of a regatta rendez-vous for tall ships, last weekend; on Friday, 12 may at 21.00 a swimwear fashion catwalk show on Las Canteras beach (La Puntilla area) and, during the fair, boat show jolateros, within the programme of activities developed with schools in the capital; in addition to the exhibition and sale of first-and second-hand vessels.
FIMAR 2017 will also revolve around the strategic positioning of Gran Canaria in the maritime world, nautical tourism, industry, naval repairs, maritime transport, research, energy, and aquaculture, among others.
